Send a letter to the Editor

Thank you for speaking out by sending a letter to the editor to our area’s newspapers/news magazines. When you complete the form below your letter will be send directly to them.

If your letter is chosen for publication, they will call you to verify that you are the author. They work on tight deadlines, so keep an eye out for a call and if you miss one please call them back as soon as possible.

Remember, letters to the editor are most effective when they are written from your own perspective and tell your story of why passing Issue 15 is so important to you.

Instructions for effective letters to editors

  • Use your own words.
  • Highlight why our health and human services are so important to you.
  • If you have a personal story or experience please share it.
  • If you know of others who have been helped, please share their story as well (avoid using their name unless you have their ok).
  • Keep your letter to well under 200 words – the shorter the better.

To assist you with your letter, here are 15 reasons to Vote for 15. Please use this as a guide to help tell what is most important to you.

  • Protects critical emergency services for ALL of us.
  • Provides support for Metro Life Flight and the Level One Trauma and Burn Center at MetroHealth.
  • Keeps life-saving services like Metro Health’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Protects our children at risk of abuse and neglect.
  • Helps senior citizens continue to live independently in their own homes.
  • Ensures our children enter school healthy, prepared and ready to learn.
  • Helps provide foster care and adoption services.
  • It’s renewal makes sure these services are there for us when we need them most.
  • Over 200,000 people in our county depend on our health and human services each year.
  • Helps provide rehabilitation to those recovering from serious injuries and strokes.
  • Supports counseling for abused and neglected children.
  • Helps protects seniors from those who prey on the elderly.
  • Funding can only be used where it matters most…delivering services to our most vulnerable citizens—children, seniors, and those faced with a range of crisis situations.
  • Renewing our support for health and human services does not increase taxes.
  • Without Issue 15, we will lose support of vital services for thousands of people who have nowhere else to turn.
